Dries Van Noten F/W’98 Wool Gradient Checkered Shearling Jacket
Availability: 1 in stock
Known as one of most famous Belgium designers, Van Noten always amazed the audience due to the beautiful combinations of fabrics, cuts and patterns. His distinguished collections were often inspired by Eastern culture. In his designs, he always focused on unique yet wearable clothing.
This piece is early work from the man himself for the label before he moved, in the year 2000, to a way bigger department store in Antwerp. During these times he gained a lot of popularity, especially in Europe. For his men collection of fall / winter 1998, VanNoten played with plenty of fabrics what was very recognizable for its time for the label. Walking through the collection, we see plenty of earth-tone colors but definitely a use of many fabrics such as wool, silk cotton and leather. Besides the fabrics, it’s obvious he adored to play with patterns.
This particular jacket is made out of fine wool, with a beautiful green checkered pattern all-through the jacket hem bottom where the pattern changes in a lighter green gradient. Furthermore, this jacket has two vertical-and two horizontal zipped pockets. On the back we find two buttoned kangaroo pockets to store your daily belongings easily. The finishing touch on the jacket is the faux fur sterling bolero.
