Tom Ford was the creative director of Gucci from 1994 to 2004, and during his tenure, he designed a number of iconic leather jackets for the brand. The leather jackets, Ford made over the years, when he was active at the label mostly have a sexy, tailored fit and unique design elements such as quilted shoulders, belted waist and mostly featured in the color black. The jackets from this era helped to cement Fords’ reputation as one of the most influential designers of his time.
The fall / winter collection of 2002 was characterized by a mix of luxurious fabrics and daring silhouettes. It featured a range of statement pieces, including fur-trimmed coats, leather jackets, and sleek evening gowns, as well as more casual pieces such as denim and knitwear, all in a more gothic yet sexy vibe, Ford translated in his collection.
When Tom Ford cut his smash-hits for Gucci in the mid-90s, they were for a woman with a fearlessly rockin’ attitude and a taste for dangerous luxe. Now she’s back with an even bigger, richer lineup of killer clothes to flaunt.
This particular jacket is a sample piece from this collection, what means its probably a one-off! It has never been worn and that makes this piece extremely rare! It features a tall leather body, with western stitching and a police man silhouette. The jacket has buckle fastening around the neck, waist and arms.
