Debuted in the year 2000, HaaT means village market in Sanskrit, which sound similar to “heart” in English. The label was founded by Makiko Minagawa under the umbrella of Issey Miyake. The label is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of textile design: employing craftsmanship, traditional methods and hand-made fabrications to create pieces that unite heritage techniques with modern manufacturing.
